Once upon a time, in the smallest but most enchanting state of Rhode Island, a group of kids, known as the "Word Wizards," embarked on the most fascinating quest of their lives - a writing adventure! Tucked between Massachusetts and Connecticut, this tiny wonderland was like an exclamation point in the sentence of the United States, where the ocean's whispers inspired magical stories and tales. The "Word Wizards" weren't your regular school kids. They had the power to weave extraordinary stories using their pens and paper. Every second Saturday, they gathered at their secret clubhouse, an ancient lighthouse overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean. Under the watchful eyes of their mentor, Sir Scribblelot, an ageless gnome with a pointed hat, they honed their skills. Sir Scribblelot was no ordinary gnome. He was a literary genius with a peculiar sense of humor. He was known to turn stories upside down and inside out, often leaving the Word Wizards in fits of laughter. From making pigs fly to turning Monday into a chocolate pudding, he made every writing session a rollercoaster ride into the world of imagination. The Rhode Island kids were an energetic bunch with vivid imaginations. They were a mix of hilarious pranksters, serious scholars, and daydreaming artists. Everyone had a unique way of seeing the world, but they all shared one thing - a love for stories. Each session, they would spill out tales that made the lighthouse echo with laughter, gasps, and the occasional snort. This was Rhode Island - a tiny state with big stories. And these were the Word Wizards, the young heroes of our tale, proving that sometimes, the smallest places hold the biggest adventures.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

We also provide a variety of activities in a creative and stimulating indoor environment. At our center, we understand that children learn best through play. That’s why our mission is focused on developing the “whole child” through playful interaction in the environment. We recognize that each child is unique and develops individually, so our program is centered around learning centers. This encourages active, play-oriented learning that helps children explore themselves, their environment, and others. We design activities that accommodate different levels of ability and learning styles. Our outdoor play area is designed to provide a natural play environment for kids to explore and discover. Indoors, we offer a variety of stimulating and creative activities for children to enjoy. Our goal is to give children the opportunity to learn and grow through play. We believe that this will help them reach their full potential in life and become well-rounded individuals. We strive to create an environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and growth.
