The Lone Star State, known to you and I as Texas, is vast, colorful, and brimming with charm. It's so enormous that if it were a book, it would be a whopping 696,241-page epic filled with tales of cowboys, oil rigs, and mouth-watering barbecue! Now, imagine if the pages of this dream book were filled with the heart-stopping dramas of armadillo rodeos, cowboy boots that talk, and chili peppers so hot they could launch rockets! In this sprawling playground, there are children who are keen on reading, with a taste for adventure as big as Texas itself. Meet our fearless hero, Bookaroo Billy, a young Texan with a funny cowboy hat that doubles up as a magical book. Bookaroo Billy has the extraordinary ability to leap into any story that he reads, experiencing the adventures first-hand! Every day, after school, Billy and his friends gallop across the wide-open plains of Texas, dodging tumbleweeds, and seeking the perfect shady spot under a giant Pecan tree. They laugh and jest, their giggles filling the air as Texas's golden sunset paints the sky. Then Billy, pulling out a book from his magical hat, begins to read, and the real adventure begins. One minute, they're sailing high above the clouds on a giant tortilla chip, and the next, they're racing on horseback against the speediest jackrabbit in the West. Every word Billy reads brings their imaginations to life, combining the magic of stories with the limitless skies of Texas. This incredible reading activity keeps the kids of Texas on their toes, their minds buzzing with tales and their hearts filled with laughter. After all, in Texas, the stories are as big and wild as the state itself!

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
