In the scorching, sun-drenched land of Arizona, where the cacti stand taller than a kangaroo on a trampoline and the desert sand is hotter than a dragon's huff, exists a group of courageous kids known as the Sportsfield Squadron. This band of buddies share a love for sports that rivals their love for frozen lemonade on a blistering summer day, a treat as rare as a unicorn's sneeze in this part of the world. Every day, as the sun rises in a sky as blue as a smurf's backside, the squadron assembles on the Sportsfield, a magical oasis that sparkles like a disco ball in the heart of the sandy wilderness. Outfitted in their sun hats, as important in the desert as a superhero's cape, and sneakers that could make a roadrunner envious, these kids are ready to take on any sporting challenge that comes their way. Their leader is a hilarious chameleon named Chuckles, who changes colors quicker than a mood ring on a moody teenager. Chuckles, with his belly full of laughter and sports knowledge, guides the kids through each activity. Be it kicking a soccer ball that moves as swiftly as a startled jackrabbit, throwing a frisbee that flies higher than a witch's broomstick or batting a baseball that shoots off like a rocket, Chuckles is always there to make sure that fun is the top priority. The Sportsfield Squadron, cheered by Chuckles, are not just any ordinary kids playing sports; they are the heart of Arizona's spirit, conquering the desert heat with their unyielding energy. Through their shared sports activities, they learn the power of teamwork, the joy of triumph, and the hilarity of a chameleon who thinks he can play hide and seek in a rainbow. They are the champions of the desert, and their laughter echoes across Arizona, making even the cacti blush.

Parents know that their children's time away from home and school matters. The Learning, Enrichment, and Play (LEAP) program offered by the Marana Unified School District provides supervised, secure learning and play experiences for children enrolled in pre-K through sixth grade. The LEAP sites are licensed facilities, located at each elementary school in the district, and provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for children to learn, play, and grow. For middle schoolers, the Teen Extended Day (TED) program offers academic enrichment tailored to their needs. With LEAP and TED, parents can feel confident that their children are in a secure environment, receiving the educational and enrichment opportunities they need.
