About Allegro Performing Arts Academy in Guilford, CT

For over 30 years, Allegro Academy has provided high quality music education programs for students of all ages. Founded in 1986, Allegro Academy offers a variety of classes ranging from Music in Motion for toddlers to Musical Theater for adults. During the academic year, there are two 18-week semesters of classes available. Additionally, individual lessons in Piano and Voice are given weekly for children and adults aged 8 and older. A Six Week Summer Session is also available for all lessons, classes, and productions. Allegro Academy celebrates its 30th anniversary in August 2016, an important milestone in its long and successful history of music education. With a wide variety of classes, individual lessons, and special summer session, Allegro Academy strives to provide quality music education for everyone. The Academy is committed to its mission of helping students of all ages discover their passion for music and reach their full potential.

BeAKid
Music in Motion: 2 - 3 year olds, 4 - 5 year olds

Offers young children the opportunity to discover the joy of making music and provides a foundation for the development of musical aptitude by exposure to a musical environment at a critical age for maximum growth. Songs, finger plays, dances, circle games, rhythmic exercises, and whole body movement are incorporated into a positive, cumulative, creative musical experience. There are classes for 2-3 year olds and for 4-5 year olds.

Children's Choir: 6 - 12 year olds 

A love of singing is the only requirement for joining! There will be emphasis on ear training and solfege, as well as instruction on diction and vocal technique.

Individual Piano and Voice: 8 year olds through adult 

Instruction is offered on all levels to adults and children age 8 or older. Lessons are 30 or 45 minutes weekly and are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Performance experience is gained through participation in five optional recitals held throughout the year.
