About Tony Penna's Extreme Karate in Southington, CT

Extreme Karate is devoted to keeping Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro's legacy alive. Our instructors are passionate about teaching the traditional Okinawan martial arts of Shorin-Ryu Karate, Jujutsu, and Kobudo. We are committed to helping our students learn these ancient disciplines while teaching the fundamentals of self-defense and respect. Our instructors take special care to ensure that our students learn the correct techniques of Shorin-Ryu Karate, Jujutsu, and Kobudo, as passed down from Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro. We believe in keeping the traditional training methods alive, so that future generations will be able to benefit from and appreciate the martial arts. At Extreme Karate, we are proud to be part of the Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karatedo International Association. We are passionate about preserving and teaching the martial arts that were passed down from Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro, and are committed to helping our students learn the fundamentals of self-defense and respect. Our instructors are dedicated to keeping the traditional training methods alive so that future generations can appreciate and benefit from them.

Kids Classes

Learn traditional methods in a way that makes learning fun, and without sacrificing the integrity of the martial art. Kids are taught self-discipline, self-control, and respect. They also learn that confrontation is the last resort.

Family Classes

Spend time with the kids and sign up for our family classes. In our family classes, you're not responsible for your child's learning — we give you the opportunity to experience training in the same room with your family.

Teen and Adult Classes

Work at your own pace in our teen and adult classes. Whether it is strength training, flexibility, coordination, traditional karate studies or practical self defense, our classes never disappoint. Without proper training and effective application, your belt is only there to keep your uniform closed.
