The Georgia Grits are led by their imaginary mascot, a roly-poly armadillo named Dilly. With his tough outer shell and his quick rolling moves, he embodies the energy and never-give-up spirit of these softball-loving kids. Dilly, who has quite the funny bone, is always up to some mischief, often hiding in the outfield and popping up to surprise the players just when they least expect it. These kids, whether they are hitting a home run or tasting the dust after a daring slide to the home plate, always have a smile on their faces. Their laughter is as infectious as the sweet scent of Georgia peaches, it makes the sunflowers sway and the robins sing. From the crack of dawn, when the morning dew still clings to the green, green grass, they're out in the field, swinging their bats, and sending softballs whizzing through the warm Georgia air. After an exciting day on the fields, they gather around the biggest peach tree, sharing stories of their epic games, their faces flushed with the joy of the day. Youth beginner classes introduce children ages 6–12 to the fundamentals of fencing, including saber handling, footwork, distance control, fencing etiquette, sportsmanship, coordination, focus, and basic rules. Junior programs are available for ages 12+ and help students progress toward competitive fencing. With experienced coaches and a supportive training environment, students develop both physical and mental skills while learning a sport that challenges them to think quickly, move confidently, and make strategic decisions. Advanced and Elite programs provide additional training for experienced fencers interested in tournaments and high-level competition. Both include name recognition in marketing materials and advertisement in the digital program. Or, players can simply make a $100 entry fee to join the tournament. All proceeds benefit scholarships for Camp Twitch & Shout. Camp Twitch & Shout is a special place for children 8 to 17 years of age who have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. Our mission is to improve the lives of these young people through engaging and supportive camp programs.
