About International Language Institute of Massachusetts

We strive to create a more equitable, multicultural society. Language can be a unifying force, helping to bridge divides between different cultures and peoples. Unfortunately, language can be a major barrier for people who lack strong language skills in the “official” language of their country. This can result in a lack of educational opportunities, difficulty accessing social services, and an overall feeling of marginalization. ILI works to reduce language barriers by providing English language training to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our goal is to create a society in which everyone has equal access to language resources and opportunities, allowing everyone to realize their full potential.

The International Language Institute’s Intensive English Program offers academic, business, and practical English in interactive classes.

Online English Program
IEP Online is a full-time English program with amazing instructors, unique teaching methods and lots of student interaction in a virtual format! ish conversations, practice grammar, learn useful vocabulary in a supportive Zoom environment and complete homework in Google Classroom.

Intensive TESOL Certificate Online
This program is a 130-hour teacher-training course that provides participants with the practical skills and confidence they need to be successful in the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classroom.

ILI designs and delivers customized language programs for the workplace. Whether you’re an employer or employee seeking classes in Spanish, Portuguese, English, or other language, we’re ready to create and teach online, onsite at your workplace, or on-campus in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Free English Program (FEP)
Since 1988 ILI has been providing free English classes for area immigrants and refugees. Offering four levels of English from beginner to high-intermediate, students study six hours per week.
