About Art in Motion Academy of Dance

At Oliver Ames Theater, we provide a wide selection of dance classes for students of all ages and abilities. Our experienced faculty meets regularly to discuss each student's progress and to find the best placement for them. We strive to ensure that every child is given the appropriate opportunities for their individual growth, and placement decisions are made based on the faculty's years of teaching experience. In addition to participating in our annual recital, students can also dance at various community events, nursing homes, and parades throughout the season. We are honored to be able to host dance recitals at the Oliver Ames Theater, although space is limited and our dates are assigned by the theater after we submit our preferences.

Totally Two

When your little one is ready to separate from you, introduce them to dancing, singing and tumbling. This 30 minute class is designed for those Tots that are ready to separate from parent/guardian.The emphasis will be on structure, stretching, singing, tumbling, ballet and working on one recital DANCE! This class will run for the entire dance year and will also perform one dance in our annual recital in May held at Oliver Ames High School in Easton! Totally Two will be limited to 8 dancers.

Ballet/Pointe

Ballet is the foundation from which all dance comes from. Ballet comes highly recommended, as it promotes correct body placement, strength and coordination. Each class will consist of barre, center, grand and petite allegro work (based upon level). Once a student has mastered proper technique, a student may be able to advance to Pointe; which is at the discretion of the teacher. It teaches proper placement, grace and poise. Ballet class will help develop strength and flexibility.

Dance Team

Dance Team is for the dancer who wants to be perform in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Dancers learn team work, dedication and performance in this wonderful program.
