About Village School The Independent Day School Pre-K-6

We recognize the importance of creating a learning environment that fosters the development of the whole child and encourages practical, hands-on learning. This includes creating multiple connections between the mind, heart, and body. We are careful to not rush a child’s mental development and instead allow them to grow and develop at their own pace. Through thematic study, art, music, and story, we strive to create an emotional connection to the learning process and help children discover their creative fire. We believe in helping children reach their full potential by allowing them to ripen in their own time.

Preschool
The Village School provides a warm, safe, supportive, nurturing garden for children to grow and become themselves. Teachers are facilitators, gardeners and role models

Summer Programs
The different programs may have a focus on nature, or arts, or music or learning new skills, such as woodworking. Programs are week-long and open to the public. All programs are outdoors. This year’s programs are morning programs, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m
