Bursting with creativity as vibrant as a sunset over Acadia National Park, these youngsters wield their needles like knights brandish their swords. With a swish of their thread, they transform ordinary fabric into extraordinary creations. A polka-dot octopus plushie? No problem! A quilt that could rival a kaleidoscope? Challenge accepted! Purl and her team aren't just sewing for the fun of it (even though it is a stitch of a time). They use their craft to solve problems, too. Lost a button on your favorite coat? KOMTA is on it. Give your child the opportunity to learn a unique Olympic sport while building confidence, focus, coordination, discipline, and strategic thinking at ALLE Fencing Club in Fort Lauderdale. ALLE Fencing Club specializes in saber fencing and welcomes students from beginners discovering the sport for the first time to experienced young athletes preparing for regional and national competitions. Youth beginner classes introduce children ages 6–12 to the fundamentals of fencing, including saber handling, footwork, distance control, fencing etiquette, sportsmanship, coordination, focus, and basic rules. Junior programs are available for ages 12+ and help students progress toward competitive fencing. With experienced coaches and a supportive training environment, students develop both physical and mental skills while learning a sport that challenges them to think quickly, move confidently, and make strategic decisions. Advanced and Elite programs provide additional training for experienced fencers interested in tournaments and high-level competition. ALLE Fencing Club also offers private lessons for personalized instruction and skill development, as well as beginner-focused fencing camps that combine fencing activities with teamwork, confidence-building, focus, and fun.
At Summer Camp, we understand the importance of providing a safe and supportive place for girls from low-income and foster homes. Our campers come from inner-city and rural areas and are aged 7 to 18. We give them the opportunity to take part in educational, challenging and fun activities, as well as to learn from positive role models. Our campers are also given the chance to build their skills for life in a place where everyone is celebrated for their diversity. We are a nonprofit and rely on the generosity of donors to provide full camperships each summer. Summer Camp is more than just a place to have fun! We are focused on creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere where all of our campers can thrive and learn. We strive to provide a safe and inclusive space that stands against discrimination and empowers our campers to grow and explore. We would not be able to do this without the support of our donors who help us give each girl the chance to attend our summer camp.
