The Sew-Stitch Warriors come from every corner of the vibrant Garden State, from the bustling boardwalks of Seaside Heights to the tranquil cornfields of Sussex County. They are a diverse bunch; some are expert button sewers, while others prefer to weave wacky designs onto denim jackets. Laughter is their common language, and if you listen closely, you can hear their merriment echo throughout the state, like the sweetest melody. On grey, dreary days, when the sky is filled with grumbling clouds, and the Atlantic appears less dancey, more moody, the Sew-Stitch Warriors gather in a secret tree-house, nestled in the heart of a hidden forest. In this cosy sanctuary, they stitch and sew a symphony of colours and patterns, their laughter lighting up the grey canvas of the day. I'm an alumnus of Parsons the New School of Design in New York City, where I earned a nomination for Designer of the Year during my thesis year. After working in the fashion industry, I became disillusioned with its wasteful practices and decided to pursue my passion for making and teaching instead. Here at Old Spool Sewing, I offer sewing classes for people of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
