About Silton Swim School

When a youngster is placed in an ideal environment and given ample time, the reasonably receptive child will learn. Add an educationally proven program with the finest professional instruction and the learning process will be hastened and refined. Swimming involves the application of several scientific principles which underline the fundamental concepts for the beginner or more advanced swimmer. The key to the instruction is communication and repetition which will develop a more positive learning experience within each child's ability level. Maximum comfortable exposure is necessary and permitted by heating the water to 86 degrees.

Full Day Program
During our full day program students will participate in both the morning and afternoon sessions, receiving 6 half hour group swim lessons. When students are not swimming, they will participate in our out of pool field activities. Students are grouped by age with two instructors.

Classes for Advanced Swimmers
Silton Swim School offers competitive swim lessons for more advanced swimmers. Our competitive classes take place during the same sessions as our age group lessons. In order to be considered for the competitive class, students must be at least 8 years old and have knowledge of all four strokes; freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Competitive students will receive three (3) half hour competitive lessons each day/session. The main focus will be on stroke technique but students will also work on endurance, flip turns, relay starts, and diving. In between lessons, competitive students have the option to participate in our field games with children ages 8 & up.

Saturday Morning Programs
Each Saturday, during your students enrollment, parents, relatives and friends are invited to their child's swim demonstration and conference with the instructors. The morning session runs from 9:15 am to 10 am. The afternoon session runs from 10:15 am to 11 am. Notices will be sent home mid week alerting you what exact time your child's demo will take place.
