Among them is a comical character, Jimmy "Jangle" Jones. Jangle, as everyone calls him, is an affable lad with freckles splattered across his nose like a constellation of stars. Every morning, with the sun barely peeping over the horizon, Jangle would hop onto his horse, a frisky chestnut named Biscuit. Biscuit had a mind of his own, often deciding to follow a butterfly or chase a tumbleweed, much to Jangle's hilarious exasperation. But when it came to racing, Biscuit ran like the wind, leaving dust in the faces of those who dared to challenge him. These horseback riders from Texas loved their thrilling adventures. They splashed through creeks, galloped over hills, and even once chased a rainbow, hoping to find a pot of Texas-style chili at the end! Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations.
